Doorways as Portals-Guest Teacher Chantel Zimmerman

Whether you’ve considered it or not, as a creative being, you are on a journey of discovery about yourself through your art. This journey includes beginnings, endings, pauses, and closures experienced as you explore new techniques, make “bad” art, and pour your heart onto the canvas or page.  The metaphor of a doorway serves by offering vistas into unknown territory. Doorways provide boundaries around the new and the old. They act as thresholds for moments to pause and consider. Doorways reveal your next steps in the creative process, and invite curiosity to lead you into new creative terrains.

In this day-long, personal journey you will use the metaphor of doorways, door images, and Sacred Collage™ to uncover insights around your creative expression. During our time together you will invite doorways to serve as portals of exploration to your inner, artistic realm and go deeper with the symbolic meaning behind the images you select and glue down.

All materials are provided, simply show up curious. You may want to bring a journal and pen to capture your thoughts and ideas. Together we will spend time in silence, explore through the art of collage, and journal to reflect on the awareness gained while creating. Small and large group experiences will enhance our time together.

Join Us: Saturday, March 4, 2023 9am – 4pm – with an hour lunch break. Feel free to bring lunch and use the time to continue working, or plan to go out and support a local business.
