Watercolor Journey with Guest Teacher Cris Gordy
A beginning watercolor series of 4 introductory classes. Learn the basics of painting with watercolors. Everything provided for the first session, then student will bring their own supplies. Sessions are 9/19, 9/26, 10/3, 10/10

About the event
Class 1: intro to watercolor supplies, demo by instructor, and student practice. Sumi-é introduction with Chinese brushes and watercolors on different surfaces, including Canson paper. All materials provided the first class.
Class 2: Inspired by a vase of fresh flowers, paint vivid florals alla prima using complementary colors on Canson paper. Learn about how colors work.
Class 3: Still life with fruit and plants. Please bring a piece of fruit of your choice. Apples, lemons, oranges, bananas, green grapes, work well. On Arches or Canson paper.
Class 4: Paint small landscapes to hang at home or gift as postcard. Photo references provided. On Carson or Fabriano.
